The OSOYOO 5" IPS DSI touch screen connects to your Raspberry Pi through the DSI port. One cable carries both the picture and the touch signal, so it uses no GPIO pins, no HDMI port and no USB port — all 40 GPIO pins stay free for your own DIY projects. It is plug and play: no driver needs to be installed.
Why DSI?
- One cable does it all: display signal and capacitive touch travel over the single DSI ribbon cable.
- No GPIO occupied: unlike SPI screens, it does not use the SPI bus or any GPIO pins.
- No HDMI needed: the same clarity as an HDMI screen, without taking the HDMI port and without any HDMI licence cost.
- Driver-free: connect the cable, power on, and the screen just works.
Features
- 5" IPS LCD with 800 × 480 physical resolution, 24-bit colour and 60 Hz refresh rate
- 5-point capacitive touch (Raspberry Pi OS supports single-point touch)
- Wide 85° viewing angle on all four sides (85/85/85/85), so colours stay consistent when viewed from an angle
- Virtual resolution adjustable from 800 × 480 up to 1920 × 1080 on Raspberry Pi Legacy OS
- Strong anti-interference, ultra-low power consumption, long-distance lossless transmission, automatic sleep
- Reserved fixing holes for mounting Raspberry Pi boards
- Supports Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu, Kali, RetroPie, OctoPrint and more. Note: Raspberry Pi 5 only supports Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm.
- Compatible with Raspberry Pi 5, 4, 3B+, 3B, 3A+ and 2B

What's in the box?
- 1 × 5" DSI touch LCD screen for Raspberry Pi
- 1 × 15-pin to 15-pin DSI FFC 10 cm cable for Raspberry Pi 2/3/4 (metal connectors on the same side)
- 1 × 15-pin 1 mm to 22-pin 0.5 mm DSI FPC 20 cm cable for Raspberry Pi 5 (metal connectors on opposite sides)
- 1 × cross screwdriver
- 1 × user manual
Setup in 3 steps
- Flash your OS image (Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu, Kali, RetroPie, OctoPrint, and more) to a micro SD card (16 GB or larger) with Raspberry Pi Imager or Win32DiskImager.
- Connect the DSI cable: for Raspberry Pi 2/3/4 use the 15-pin to 15-pin cable (metal connectors on the same side); for Raspberry Pi 5 use the 15-pin 1 mm to 22-pin 0.5 mm cable (metal connectors on opposite sides). Insert the SD card into the Raspberry Pi and assemble the screen.
- Power up and wait for the system to start. No driver installation is needed.
Please note
- The DSI port of the OSOYOO 5" DSI screen is different from the official Raspberry Pi 7" DSI screen, and its cable is different from the official cable. Please use the included cable and check the metal connector orientation on both sides.
- On Raspberry Pi 5, please use Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm.
- For the latest Ubuntu Desktop OS, edit
/boot/firmware/config.txt: adddisplay_auto_detect=1and comment out the linedtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d(make it#dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d). - Adjusting the virtual resolution and the display rotation works on Raspberry Pi Legacy OS; on Bookworm the virtual resolution cannot be adjusted.
- Brightness can be adjusted in the system (rpi_backlight / brightnessctl), and an on-screen virtual keyboard can be added (matchbox-keyboard) if you want to type without a USB keyboard.
- Do not touch your Raspberry Pi board while power is on or when your hands carry a static charge — discharge static by touching a metal tap first.
