7" 720×1280 HD IPS MIPI DSI touchscreen for Raspberry Pi and ESP32-P4. A sharp 720×1280 HD IPS touchscreen that connects through the DSI (MIPI) port, so your HDMI, USB and GPIO stay free for the rest of your project. Only 4.2 mm thin, with 5-point capacitive touch and 6H tempered glass. Ideal for Home Assistant wall panels, KlipperScreen, kiosks and embedded HMI.

Please note: unlike OSOYOO's 800×480 DSI screens, this 7" high-resolution screen requires a driver. Installation is easy — select the driver tutorial for your OS from the links below.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. Connect the DSI cable to your Raspberry Pi's DSI port: 15P-to-22P cable for Raspberry Pi 5 / CM5 / CM4 / CM3+ / CM3, 15-pin FFC cable for Raspberry Pi 4B / 3B+ / 3B / 3A+.
  2. Connect the power cable to the GPIO 5V and GND pins.
  3. Install the OSOYOO driver for your OS by following the guide. It takes a few minutes.

Please note

  • Always shut down and disconnect power before connecting or disconnecting the display.
  • Input current must be ≥ 0.5A; below that the screen may fail to start or display abnormally, and prolonged abnormal operation may damage the display.
  • Cable insertion: pull the locking mechanism forward, insert the ribbon cable with the metal contacts facing the user, then push the locking mechanism back to secure. Avoid folding or straining the ribbon cable.
  • Operate within 0–50 °C in a dry environment. Avoid water, moisture, conductive surfaces and excessive heat, and avoid rapid temperature changes, which can cause condensation or physical stress on the display.
  • The display glass is fragile and may shatter if dropped or struck — handle with care.

Perfect for compact industrial HMI, exceptional engineering backing

We use these 7-inch displays for our smaller industrial control units. The multi-platform compatibility (Raspberry Pi, Ubuntu, and ESP32-P4) helps us cut manufacturing costs down significantly. The DSI design is clean and leaves the HDMI port available. Setup requires installing a specific driver, which might be a bit tricky for absolute novices—some basic Linux knowledge is definitely recommended. However, unlike generic vendors who disappear after a sale, OSOYOO’s engineering team is always there to help.

Excellent hardware, but driver setup requires patience

The hardware itself is wonderful—crisp 7-inch resolution, beautiful colors, and a smart DSI port layout that doesn't waste your HDMI or GPIO interfaces. It's also rare and valuable that it supports both Raspberry Pi and ESP32-P4 for low-cost HMI development. However, I am giving it 3 stars because the initial setup is quite complex. Because it requires manual driver installation, it can be frustrating for users without basic Linux knowledge. Be prepared to read the documentation very closely or contact OSOYOO technical support to get through the configuration.

This is a fantastic 7-inch choice for anyone building HMI applications supporting Raspberry Pi, Ubuntu, and ESP32-P4. The image quality is sharp and vibrant, and using the MIPI/DSI port keeps your GPIO pins free for DIY IoT sensors. My only minor critique is that the driver installation can be a bit challenging for beginners if you aren't familiar with Linux. Make sure you read the tutorial carefully or reach out to OSOYOO's technical support. Once it's up and running, it works brilliantly!
