3.5-inch IPS DSI Touchscreen for Embedded Projects

Add touch controls and status information to projects where enclosure space matters. The OSOYOO 3.5-inch display combines a 480×800 IPS panel with a MIPI DSI interface and touchscreen input.

  • 480×800 IPS panel: Space-constrained embedded touch interfaces.
  • MIPI DSI display connection: Keep HDMI available for other display needs.
  • Preserve general-purpose I/O signals: On Raspberry Pi, the screen uses the GPIO header’s 5V and GND power pins without using its general-purpose input/output signal pins.
  • Software support: Raspberry Pi OS and Ubuntu support on compatible configurations; driver installation is required.
  • Project support: Contact OSOYOO for board selection, setup questions and volume pricing.

Compatibility and setup

Designed for compatible Raspberry Pi and ESP32-P4 development platforms. Contact OSOYOO with your exact board and operating system before ordering. Compatibility depends on the host board, connector, cable, power arrangement and software version.

Driver installation required. A dedicated 3.5-inch setup guide is being prepared. Contact OSOYOO for model-specific instructions before purchase.

Power connection

The Raspberry Pi installation uses the GPIO header’s 5V and GND power pins. A separate regulated 5V supply may be possible for a custom installation; contact OSOYOO for approved wiring, grounding and power-sequencing instructions before using external power.

ESP32-P4 integration

Planning an ESP32-P4 project? Contact OSOYOO with your development board and ESP-IDF version to confirm the cable, pinout, power and panel-driver requirements. Integration requires a compatible hardware and software configuration.

Choose the right screen

Choose 3.5 inches for compact control panels, robotics interfaces and portable prototypes. Check mechanical fit and your host configuration before ordering.

Clever hardware and great multi-platform support, but setup is tricky

The hardware concept of this 3.5-inch screen is brilliant—saving HDMI and GPIO ports via a DSI connection while supporting both Raspberry Pi and ESP32-P4 for low-cost HMI designs. However, I’m giving it 3 stars because the initial configuration can be quite a challenge. Because it requires manual driver installation, it might frustrate users who lack basic Linux knowledge. Be ready to follow the documentation line-by-line or contact OSOYOO support to get it working properly.

Highly versatile micro-display, excellent for cost-sensitive HMI builds

We use these tiny screens for our prototype HMI devices. The multi-platform support (Raspberry Pi, Ubuntu, and ESP32-P4) gives us great flexibility and drastically reduces manufacturing costs. The DSI layout keeps wiring clean without occupying the HDMI port. Keep in mind that it requires manual driver installation and basic Linux familiarity. However, unlike generic suppliers, OSOYOO’s engineering team is always professional and responsive.

Great little screen for HMI projects, driver setup needs a bit of patience

This 3.5-inch screen is fantastic for DIY and commercial IoT setups supporting Raspberry Pi, Ubuntu, and ESP32-P4. The display is sharp, and the DSI interface saves valuable GPIO pins. My only critique is that the driver installation can be slightly intimidating for absolute beginners who aren't comfortable with Linux. Make sure to read the tutorial carefully or reach out to OSOYOO’s tech support. Once running, it’s a powerhouse!

Crisp, reliable micro-display with top-tier vendor backing

I’ve tested several mini screens, and this 3.5-inch DSI version stands out as the best for modern micro-controllers like the ESP32-P4 and Raspberry Pi. It delivers high-definition visuals while keeping the host's HDMI and GPIO pins free. Driver configuration has a small learning curve, but OSOYOO provides solid tutorials and responsive engineering backup. If you need a reliable micro-HMI screen, look no further.

Exceptional for miniature industrial control dashboards

We deployed a batch of these 3.5-inch displays for our compact industrial monitoring devices. Being able to run them on Raspberry Pi and ESP32-P4 has lowered our production expenses drastically. The image quality is sharp, and the DSI setup keeps the internal layout very neat. Be prepared to install the driver manually with some Linux background, but OSOYOO’s team is always there if you need guidance. A solid 5-star experience!
