A sharp 720×1280 HD IPS touchscreen that connects through the DSI (MIPI) port, so your HDMI, USB and GPIO stay free for the rest of your project. Only 4.2 mm thin, with 5-point capacitive touch and 6H tempered glass. Ideal for Home Assistant wall panels, KlipperScreen, kiosks and embedded HMI.

FAQ

Does it work with Raspberry Pi 5? Yes. The 22-pin cable for Raspberry Pi 5 / CM5 is included.

Is this an alternative to the Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2? Yes. It uses the same 720×1280 resolution and DSI connection, adds CM3/CM4/CM5, Ubuntu and ESP32-P4 support, and is only 4.2 mm thin.

Can I use it in landscape mode? Yes. You can rotate the display in the OS settings. See the software guide.

Do I need HDMI or USB? No. Video and touch both run through the DSI cable.

Perfect for compact industrial HMI, exceptional engineering backing

We use these 7-inch displays for our smaller industrial control units. The multi-platform compatibility (Raspberry Pi, Ubuntu, and ESP32-P4) helps us cut manufacturing costs down significantly. The DSI design is clean and leaves the HDMI port available. Setup requires installing a specific driver, which might be a bit tricky for absolute novices—some basic Linux knowledge is definitely recommended. However, unlike generic vendors who disappear after a sale, OSOYOO’s engineering team is always there to help.

Excellent hardware, but driver setup requires patience

The hardware itself is wonderful—crisp 7-inch resolution, beautiful colors, and a smart DSI port layout that doesn't waste your HDMI or GPIO interfaces. It's also rare and valuable that it supports both Raspberry Pi and ESP32-P4 for low-cost HMI development. However, I am giving it 3 stars because the initial setup is quite complex. Because it requires manual driver installation, it can be frustrating for users without basic Linux knowledge. Be prepared to read the documentation very closely or contact OSOYOO technical support to get through the configuration.
